Awareness programmes and Employer Appreciation Visits

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Seoul, through the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK), in collaboration with the Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ), the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (NFFC), and the Construction Association of Korea (CAK), conducts awareness programmes for newly arrived Sri Lankan workers at training centres.

Employer Appreciation Visits (Company Visits)

Embassy officials undertake regular visits to Korean SME companies to appreciate employers who have recruited Sri Lankan employees and to offer plaques of appreciation and souvenirs to them. This programme was launched in 2014 with a view to establishing good relations with employers, to promote Sri Lankan employees in Korea, and to ascertain the living and working conditions of Sri Lankan employees as well as to resolve disputes, if any. The Embassy has found this programme to be extremely helpful in collecting information and promoting Sri Lanka. It has also helped raise awareness and interest on Sri Lankan employees among Korean employers, thus positively persuading them to recruit Sri Lankan employees in the future.
